The surprised warriors took their hand off their helpless victims. There was a sixty or seventy old native men and with him three police officers who had the warriors at gunpoint.
Mbese started to stammer: "But Chief, we...we only wanted to"
"STOP IT. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING...HOW YOU DARE..."
Soon Helma Christina, Henry George and Nikila were freed from their bonds. Then they went over to free Patty who slowly regained consciousness.
"Oh heaven. What has happened...."
"Oh Patty. Are you allright...It was horrible. But now it's all over."
They saw the six warriors being tied up and hauled off by the police men.
Later on, Nikila, her father, Patty and the Goodfellow couple were sitting in a hut of Nikilas village and taking some food and drinks.

"My father and I, we are so sorry for what our warriors have done to you. They will respond for their crimes. First we thought, you were part of the gang who tried to steal our holy statue. But then we found out, that you are real missionaries and we have heard a lot ot the well-doings of the Guardian of Nyassa. Can you ever pardon us?"

"For sure. But tell us finally something about the real culprits. Who are they. If they are still free there will be no real peace in the Nyassa region"

"Okay, I will tell you Patty. More or less two weeks ago, a couple came into our village. They told us that they were ethnologists and wanted to study the manners and customs of our village. There was an other man with them, too, who was the alleged camera man. They took a lot pictures and were especially interested in our burial rites, as the had heard that we had very interesting burial sites. We still hadn't any suspicions and we showed them the tombs of our ancestors.

In one of our tombs there is a holy statue of a golden Crocodil Goddess with big emerald eyes. The took pictures of everything and then we went back to the village. But the next morning, we noticed they had disappeared and we soon knew that the guards of the tombs had been knocked out and the Crocodile Statue had been robbed.  We immediately started to pursue the alleged ethnologists and we soon traced the couple and captured them. They had the Statue in their backpack. But the camera man, who was armed with a sniper gun managed to escape. We brought the false ethnologist couple back to our village and tied them up in a hut the same way as we did with Mrs and Mr. Goodfellow. We put the Statue in a safe, well guarded place and decided to hand over the couple to the police the next day. But in the very night the camera man came back and he knocked out the three guards

in front of the hut and managed to free his accomplices.

We have searched for them throughout the jungle but we didn't find them until now and we think that they will come back and try to rob the statue again. So when Mrs and Mr Goodfellow arrived, we thought they were accomplices of the others and trying to trick us again. But while you were hold prisoners, I went to the police to report and they told me that there was really a new missionary couple who had arrived at the old missionary station and I hurried back as I feared that our furious warriors could do harm to them. And unfortunately even I could not stop them to do the horrible things they have done to all three of you, especially to Patty. Thanks God, my father and the police have arrived at the very last moment. But I'm so sorry for all you had to suffer."

"Don't mention it, Nikila. In her task to protect the weak ones in the jungle, the Jungle Queen sometimes has to suffer a lot of things, but the Good Spirit gives me the power to overcome all this kind of distress and ordeals unharmed. 

But it seems to me, that the danger for your village is yet not over. Some of your warriors have been hit by the sniker and six of them will go to prison for what they have done to Helma Christina, Henry George and me. And for sure the three treasure hunters will try to strike again. Maybe they are even close by and observing the village. Where is the holy Crocodile Esmarald Statue now? "

"On a safe place which only my father and his most trusted guard know and they would never reveal it even under threat of death."

"So for sure they have to come back and try something else. We only have to wait for them. But we have to be watchful. Are there still enough guards in your village?"

"Yes we have still a couple of trustful men, seven or six, I think."

"So make sure that they are watchful. And now let's rest ourselves for some hours. I think all of us need it after the ordeals we have suffered."

"We'll do as you say, Patty, I'll tell the guards to be particularly alert."

"Okay. See you all tomorow morning."
